We’re Canon specialists for conference live streaming, but generally use Sony ecosystem cameras for on-site broadcasts. A typical live stream setup we offer comprises of:

What is the difference between ‘Open Captions’ and ‘Closed Captions’?
Accessibility is a key consideration in today’s live events. We provide English-language captioning at no extra cost on all live streaming events, helping you reach a wider audience. Additionally, depending on the platform you’re using, we offer both ‘closed’ and ‘open’ captioning options to meet your accessibility requirements. This ensures that your live stream event is not only inclusive but also compliant with accessibility standards.
What are ‘Open Captions’?
Open captions are always visible on the screen and cannot be turned off by the viewer. They are part of the video file itself, meaning they are “burned” or “baked” into the video. Since open captions are part of the video stream, they are compatible with any device or media player. Viewers cannot customize open captions (e.g., change the font size or color), as these aspects are set during the live video production process.
What are ‘Closed Captions’?
Closed captions can be turned on or off by the viewer, providing flexibility. They are encoded as a separate track within the live stream or as an additional file that accompanies an on-demand video (e.g., an .srt file). The vast majority of video players support closed captions and allow viewers to customize closed captions, such as changing the font size, color, and background.
